As we near the 2-year anniversary of our lockdown here in San Pedro, on the island of Ambergris Caye, due to Covid-19, I think it is time to stop the tracking and move towards the future. This is my last update as I need to focus my energy on my current real estate business and life. Things are seeming like normal again (pre-Covid) and there are LOTS of tourists in town enjoying the island. Even the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are enjoying the mainland of Belize. I am glad we were able to make it through this together, but many of us have suffered losses. I hope and pray that our future is bright and prosperous and that we can put this all behind us in the near future.
As of March 21, 2022, there were 309 active cases in the country of Belize! This is a lowest recording, I believe in over a year. Tourism has increased and money is being spent on the island and elsewhere in Belize.
SI (#36) now only requires of wearing masks indoors and ending the curfew! We are still awaiting the opening of "bars" and nightclubs, which is rumored to be early April.
