High Season Begins It's that time of year again, just after hurricane season and before Christmas. The island is beginning to buzz with vacationers and the seasonal expats have returned, escaping the cold months of winter.
There are more new listings hitting the market as some Sellers hold off on listing until now. If there is something in particular that you have been looking for, shoot me and email and I can check to see if it is available.
Upcoming New Listing at Alaia I wanted to let you know about an upcoming listing that I have at Alaia, at The Reef House. This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom lower unit with a great view of the pool. I will have pictures and video out before the end of the month, but it is not official yet. If you or someone you know is interested, drop me a line and I will send you the details.
High Season Flights to Belize As high season approaches, some airlines increase the number of flights to Belize, due to the increased demand from territories in the northern United States and above. Many expats in Belize live here part time (during winter time) and many travel to the Caribbean to get away from the cold weather during those same cold months. Airlines have long since noticed this and increase their number of flights as well as locations that fly direct to Belize. Rather than a recap, I am providing a link from Island Expeditions. Be sure to check the airlines as new routes may have been added. Notably, Sun Country is not on the lists and there are some cheap flights from Minnesota in January and during the holidays.
For more specific information you can get the Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) latest schedule here.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season! The San Pedro Christmas Parade is being held on the 18th of December and there are many other charity events and festivities throughout the month. It's a great sight to see the number of tourists back in town for the first full high season, since the pandemic. I hope that all may enjoy the blessings that the island brings to us and are comforted with the love, joy, and peace that is meant to be shared this season.
Tree Lighting Occurs with a Few Changes On December 8, 2022, the official ceremony to light the San Pedro, Belize Christmas Tree occurred. There was a "glow" theme to this year's decorations, but there was some concerns from some residents that they did not like the tree matching the themed decorations. A bit of a controversy to the point where the town council changed the original decorations for the tree. All in all, the ceremony was able to commence as the changes were made in time.
I have posted pictures of the original look and the finished changes below and in a YouTube video for you to see.
