Just a Ride in the Wind

I have been on the island for almost 5 years and had yet to get out on a catamaran on the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Well, finally, I made it out on a spontaneous outing, one afternoon in November. When I got to the Sailing Center, I thought that this might be a cooler trip than I had hoped. It was about 3pm in the afternoon and the sun's best heating rays were behind us. Not really knowing what to expect, I ventured out with my host and an instructor. To my amazement, the water was MUCH warmer than I thought it would be, which made the outing much more enjoyable! The following is a video that I put together to capture the trip. BTW, San Pedro, Belize does have a sailing club. They have a page on Feacebook.

The Christmas Parade is Almost Here!
The Holiday Season is here! On December 17, 2023, the LoveFM San Pedro Christmas Parade will be held and this year, Keller Williams Belize will be represented with decorated golf carts, candy, and Christmas cheer.Lots of seasonal travelers (snowbirds) are back in town and looking for things to do. If anyone would like to join our group, in particular past, present, and future clients, contact me for details of meeting up and preparing for this fabulous event.
                            Marriott Residences Moving Forward
ECI Development has been in full construction mode on their beachfront property, 1 mile south of downtown San Pedro, Belize. The timeline on their site shows completion by the end of 2025. They have started to go vertical, but putting in the foundation and the lower floor has taken some time. Particularly, coming through a tropical rainy season in which work days have been limited.

As the walls go up, I am anxiously awaiting news of any changes, as I do have floorplans (not sure if they are still current, but based on what I am seeing, it looks close). I expect that there will be a big push for sales during this coming high season.

Prices show starting in the lower $300Ks, but that does not include a furniture package or closing costs. 60% of the condos will be retained by the developer and 40% are being offered to investors.

If you would like more information on this or any other new developments, I would be happy to share information that I have and assist you in making an offer to purchase.
                                         Hurricane Season Ends
We have made it through another year! Although we have a lot of recent flooding on the mainland and pretty good downpours, here on the island, hurricane season officially ended on November 30th. Recently, the clouds and rain have been visiting us again, but hope are that this will soon end.
                                        Get Ready For High Season
Our seasons might have some adjustments (as far as high and low), but tourists have been visiting San Pedro throughout our typical slow season in larger numbers. I don't know what the particular numbers are from the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), but I can only recall a few weeks (maybe 3 or 4) that things seemed slow.
Central Park Readies for the Christmas Season
This time last year, there was a bit of a controversy with the decorations going up in Central Park (see archives), but this year, things seem to be on track with the type of decorations that the town will be proud of. Included in the decorations is the finishing paint jobs on the vendor stations that the town counsel has added to improve the look of the street vendors that had been gathering to sell food at night.

The official tree lighting will be on December 2, 2023, with a street festival preceding the event.
Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year!
