LobsterFest Gone, Costa Maya Coming...
Well, it seemed like a GREAT LobsterFest Block Party, although I will admit that I was working the "Chairs for Charity" event and did not get a chance to go out and really participate in the festivities. Definitely, the biggest crowds I have seen gathered this year, including Easter. If you have not had a chance to visit during Lobsterfest, I suggest you start making plans now for next year. Remember, the festivities will be going on all during the week, prior to the Block part on the following Saturday. I did get a chance to visit Caye Caulker the following weekend for their LobsterFest, but the rain on both days put a little damper (pardon the pun) on my full experience.
Costa Maya is the next big festival with peagent weekend being July 26-28, 2019. There will be too many things going on for me to mention here, so I will just provide this link, in case you are interested. Costa Maya Festival San Pedro
Marriott Residences Moving Forward
I recently went by the sales casita for the Marriott Residences development, this was after I saw them dismantling their former restaurant building. It seems as if they (ECI) is moving forward with preparing the land for the build. I was told that basically they will spend the rest of the summer removing the old buildings and then build the pier and the new Crazy Canuck's bar/restaurant at the end of the summer. Then they will be able to remove the final structure and prepare the site for the new buildings. One of the things that I was interested to see was the layout of a casino in the new hotel. I think this project will be a great addition to the southern part of town and will help keep the associated beach property (including the sargassum) in better condition. Only time will tell as I believe the completion date is somewhere in 2021. New Lots for Sale at Secret Beach and South of Town
Keller Williams Realty Front Street has recently announced a few lots that have become available for sale in the Secret Beach area and about 5 miles south of town.
