Nonstop Flights From New York Announced 6-6-23
Last month, on June 6th, Jet Blue announced that it was intending to fly from JFK in New York direct to the international airport (BZE) in Belize City. There will be 3 flights weekly and the service is due to begin on December 6th, 2023.
Here's the current schedule:
New York to/from Belize
Departs JFK: 8:29AM
Arrives BZE: 12:14pm
Departs BZE: 1:30pm
Arrives JFK: 7:00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday
Type of airplane: A320
This will make it easier for one of the Caribbean's largest market sources to possibly make new adventures in the country of Belize. This could potentially give a surge to the Buyer's market on the island and in the country as prices from that metropolitan area are well above the market here,

SPTC Blesses New Bridge During Dia De San Pedro Celebration
With the many activities that happened during the transition of June/July, many people missed the blessing and "official" inauguration of the new Boca Del Rio bridge. San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) hosted the event as part of the Dia de San Pedro celebrations on June 29th.
The bridge looks very nice with its tropical color and vegetative planters in the center. It is a huge improvement from the old bridge with a lot more room for the larger trucks. There have been utility modifications along with the new bridge. I even noticed a new gate at Sagebrush Church (possibly to direct traffic during planned traffic stops). Drivers won't be able to bypass the road as easy.
Whatever the reasons, this is something that the town and island has needed for a long time. Additional road improvements are occurring throughout the town.

Lobster Season Opens
Lobster season is OPEN! With an expanded lobster celebration in San Pedro, there will be plenty of opportunities to get out early and sample some of the different ways that lobster is being prepared on the island. This year's Lobster Festival will run 13 days. Traditionally, the San Pedro LobsterFest runs for about 8 or 9 days starting at the beginning of the season, which is now July 1st. It use to be June 15th, but that was pushed back a few years ago. The culmination of events in San Pedro is the Block Party on the 15th. In addition, they have added a Boca Del Rio Beach Party on Sunday the 16th. That park is on the water east of the Boca Del Rio bridge.
Caye Caulker will be holding its Lobsterfest on July 14th through the16th. With the San Pedro festival running much longer this year, I should definitely have time to get over to Caye Caulker as well to join in on their celebration.

My last visit to the Clear Water Belize development was back in December of 2022. I recently made a trip up to get the latest updates and check out the status of the project. There are still a few units left and now they are beginning to move forward on phase II of the project (a second building just south of the first one).
There is more specific information on the website in the New Development section as well as a number of site pictures.
