Last month I talked about Keller Williams Realty "Red Day" that we were going to be doing down in Cowpen, which is in the Stann Creek district of Belize. The day went well and the project is ongoing. We had over 20 agents from all over the country attending and we had members of The Rotary Club of Placencia helping out.
The Library/Resource Center and Kitchen at the San Juan Bosco Primary School has been built and transformed. There was also a classroom that needed some painting.
I put together a video of part of the trip that captures some of the day. The project is still ongoing, so If you have any available money, please help out by donating to the cause. It doesn't have to be much as a little goes a long way down in Belize.

Sanctuary/The Reserve
On November 8, 2018, the United States federal trade commission (FTC) shut down a large (possibly the largest) development in Belize in the district of Stann Creek called The Reserve (aka Sanctuary Belize). It is more specifically located about 7 miles south of Hopkins Village reaching to the sea.
I had first heard about this development around 2014. A previous co-worker had a friend that had a house there and she was going to visit on vacation. By the time she had returned, she had already put money down for a lot there.
While there is too much detail to go in to, there are plenty of articles online to read about the history of the development and what caused the shutdown. I had always wondered what was happening there, since there weren't many people talking after the shutdown. I was in the area during Covid in late 2020, but I was not able to go inside, due to security. It is a gated community. I had vowed that I would some day return. Below is a link for the return trip that I made last month.
