A Beach Walk Down South
I haven't done a beach walk video in almost a year, so I decided to do an update on what is going on in the south part of San Pedro, Belize. I started at Royal Palm Villas and worked my way up to Diamonte, near the edge ot downtown. I broke the recording into two separate parts. They're a little lengthy, but I do go over a lot of detail with pricing and updates, particularly with what will be going on at Alaia. Hope Hospital "Officially" Opens
If you have been in San Pedro the last couple of months, you may have heard talk of a new hospital on the island in town. On Friday, February 23,2024, Ambergris Hope Hospital had its Inaugural Opening Ceremony. I saw it mentioned on Reef TV Channel 20 in the morning and thought I would swing by to check it out.
Ambergris Hope Hospital is the dream of Dr. Daniel Gonzalez, who was born here in San Pedro. The location is north of the fire station and just south of the roundabout.on Pescador Dr. The location is the same as Dr. Gonzalez's (Dr. Dan's) old clinic that has been expanded and remodeled. The hospital has hospital beds and is open 24 hours a day. Hope Hospital is the first private hospital in San Pedro. The hospital is being run by a group of doctors and they are currently recruiting staff. With the advancement of technology, some of the doctors are able to work remotely, while local positions are being filled.
I went to the ceremony, but felt a little under dressed as I saw many high profile people showing up to attend, but I have a few pictures below that I took. The hospital can be reached at +501-226-2660. They also have a Facebook page.

San Pedro & Caye Caulker General Hospital
On Friday, March 1, 2024, The San Pedro Town Counsel hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new San Pedro & Caye Caulker General Hospital. I did not attend the groundbreaking last year and I wanted to see what was really going on and why there was a 2nd groundbreaking ceremony.
While I never found out the reason for the "delay", the first ceremony was explained as a celebration of the original grant of $33,000,000 BZ
The event was full of dignitaries, from the Prime Minister of Belize, Honorable John Briceno to the Ambassador of Taiwan, H.E. Lily Li-Wen Hsu. I made a video and edited it to put on my YouTube channel "Nate in Belize". The completion of the hospital is estimated to be between 2.5 and 3 years. There was no mention of how many rooms, but the main focus is so that emergencies would not have to be flown to Belize City for care, saving more lives. In addition, it would be more health care for visitors and tourists to the islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.
This will be a public hospital so people will have a choice between this and the new private Hope Hospital that is now open.

I have just signed listing agreements for SEVERAL seafront condominiums south of downtown San Pedro, Belize. You have probably heard me talking about these condominiums on a number of my YouTube videos. It just so happens that a Seller recently contacted me and is motivated to getting these units out of his portfolio.
