                           September Celebrations Are Here!
September is here and the annual monthly celebrations have begun. That being said, a few new celebrations have been added and are hoping to become part of the annual events during the month. From my personal observation, I have a number of clients arriving this month to investigate real estate in the country. More and more people seem to brave the scare of the Caribbean hurricane season and are taking advantage of the travel specials. Although Belize is still not that well known among traveler's of the world, many are starting to arrive through the gateways of Mexico and Guatemala, particularly during this time of the year (many Europeans on holiday). Growth of our island is bringing an increasing amount of tourists.

Rain, including thunder and lightning, is mostly at night or in the early morning hours and that is allowing people to still get out and about during the day. Whatever the case, Belizean people don't let a little rain damper their celebrations. If you're thinking about joining in, Independence Day is on September 20 and that is the largest of the celebrations and something not to be missed.
                                      Overseas Bar & Grill Opens!
A new drinking and dining (restaurant) spot has opened in Boca Del Rio (just north of downtown San Pedro) called Overseas Bar & Grill. This was the former spot of "Losers" , which had not been fully operational since the summer of 2020. I have not had a chance to visit the establishment and I am not sure how many days of the week that they will be opened, but I am hearing pretty good things thus far.

The location is ideal and the restaurant/bar is robust in its construction as it has been there for a number of years. It's nice to know there is a new gathering place over the water in the area. There is a sign on Laguna Dr., but the location is actually over the water just east of the sign.

                 Marriott Residences Construction Moving Forward
The Marriott Residences construction project is moving forward at a pretty good pace. A large construction crew has been onsite for months and they are even working into the evenings, on certain occasions. Much of the foundation has been recently poured and they have a few vertical walls up on th lower levels and one of the pools. I often ride or walk by taking pictures of the progress, so I would refer you to the website page for more recent updates.

From what I understand, the end of 2025 is their target date, but there is not a lot of information regarding details on the development or pricing. I have documentation of the previous floorplans and other details, but those plans, including pricing, might have changed by now.
