Every year, on the second Thursday in May, Keller Williams Realty offices around the world join to help their local communities in some way. Whether is is painting part of a school, donating time for a community project, or just giving back to the community in some way, as a worldwide group, we join in together in service and call this our "Red Day"! Last year, Keller Williams® Belize was in San Ignacio at the local library supporting the children of the community.
This year, due to the coronavirus and social distancing restrictions, we have gone digital. We have set up a go fund me link where all proceeds go to food banks in Belize and only Belize. Hope Haven is here on the island and while it is primarily a children's shelter, it is one of the largest organizations that helps out with feeding families in need, not only now, but THROUGHOUT the year! I have personally worked with them on many occasions.
With this current crisis, the tourism industry has been hit hard. The international airport was shut down on March 23rd and the island was locked down that same day, due to the first case of the virus. Many had been stranded, but even though some travel restrictions have been lifted, many still have no way of providing for their families. Hope Haven has been that resource for so many in need. If you can donate even just a little, it goes a long way here. Thank you for your help!
