Royal Kahal Beachfront Suites is a boutique luxury development about a mile south of downtown San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye in the beautiful country of Belize. The development boasts five stories, which allow for amazing reef, sunset and island views. The resort was designed to withstand damage during the infrequent, but possible hurricane. The skeleton of the resort is built with a hot dipped galvanized steel structure designed to meet international building code for Coastal Hurricane and Seismic Regions. In addition, the first floor is built 6.5 feet above sea level, should there be a storm with a surge above the sea wall.
There are 25,000 gallons of freshwater available, should the city water system become incapacitated. The development uses a high pressure, high capacity reverse osmosis water filtration system capable of supplying pure, clean, drinking water. There is an additional 20,000 gallons from rainwater cisterns for non-drinking purposes. Twin high-efficiency generators would provide power if the city utility was not available.
